Brian Dong

CFO at Greenlight

Brian Dong is currently the CFO at Greenlight. Prior to joining Greenlight, they were with Goldman Sachs for over 11 years, most recently serving as Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division. Brian has extensive experience advising technology companies on corporate development and transactions, including M&A, debt and equity financings, and takeover defense.

Some of Brian's notable transactions include leading the advisory teams for Coinbase's $98B direct listing (April 2021), eBay's $9.2B sale of eBay Classifieds Group to Adevinta (July 2020), Credit Karma's $7.1B sale to Intuit (February 2020), eBay's $4.1B sale of StubHub to Viagogo (November 2019), and Qualcomm's takeover defense against Broadcom (March 2018). Brian was also the lead left bookrunner in Okta's $187M IPO (April 2017) and Twitter's $2.1B IPO (November 2013).

In addition to their transaction-related work, Brian also served as Investment Banking Division Business Unit Manager for Goldman's West Region in the US from 2013 to 2014, a role that included strategic planning, client targeting, budgeting, and account reviews for a team of 140 bankers across 8 industry groups. During their time in this role, they made decisions regarding analyst and associate promotions and compensation, assessment and delivery of performance reviews, and allocation of resources across client accounts.

Brian Dong attended the University High School. Brian then went on to study electrical engineering at Cornell University and received their BSEE degree. Dong continued their studies in electrical engineering, this time at UC San Diego where they earned their M.Eng degree. Finally, they pursued an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
