Rolf Gersonde

Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Green River College

Rolf Gersonde is an experienced ecological professional with a strong focus on forest ecology and restoration. Currently serving as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Green River College, Rolf teaches terrestrial restoration in accordance with International Principles and Standards for Ecological Restoration. As a Forest Ecologist and Acting Natural Resources Manager at Seattle Public Utilities since 2004, Rolf oversees the Natural Resources Section comprising a team of experts in various ecological fields. Additionally, Rolf holds an Affiliate Assistant Professor position at the University of Washington, collaborating with students and faculty on conservation projects and delivering lectures on forest ecology and management. Rolf is also the Vice President of the Society for Ecological Restoration Northwest, contributing to ecosystem protection and restoration efforts in the Cascadia bioregion. Rolf earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in Forest Resource Management from The University of Göttingen.
