Thomas Grünberg has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Since 2022, they have been the CEO (Managing Director) at Västsvensk Markservice AB, where they oversee various construction projects. Prior to this, from 2021 to 2022, they worked as the Head of Operations Excellence at Green Landscaping Group, focusing on implementing lean strategies for growth and profitability. From 2017 to 2021, they held multiple roles at Volvo Buses, including Senior Global Lean Production Coach and Global Process Manager, where they focused on improving delivery and quality capabilities. Thomas also worked at Volvo Group from 2011 to 2016, holding positions such as Global Lean Production Manager and Senior Lean Production Specialist, providing support and coaching in Lean methodologies. Before that, they worked at JMAC as a Business Area Manager & Senior Consultant, specializing in Lean Production/Service. Thomas began their career at Swedish Mail in 2000, where they served as a Manufacturing Engineer, Team Leader, and Ph.D., implementing Lean approaches for improved efficiency. Thomas also had various roles at ASG AB, Swigglas AB, Posten AB, and PI-Data HB, including Operator, First Line Manager, and Owner, with responsibilities ranging from production planning to computer training.

Thomas Grünberg has a diverse education history. In 1996, they began their academic journey at Chalmers University of Technology, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering. After four years, in 2000, they successfully obtained their M.Sc. degree from the same institution.

Following their undergraduate studies, Thomas furthered their education by enrolling at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2000. There, they focused on Production Engineering and dedicated seven years to earning their Ph.D. degree, which they achieved in 2007.

In 2007, Thomas Grünberg sought extensive training in the Toyota Production System from the Management Innovation Centre (Toyota) in Gifu Shatai, Japan, where they engaged in an immersive program to enhance their skills. This training played a significant role in equipping him with in-depth knowledge of the Toyota Production System.

In 2009, Thomas continued their educational pursuits by pursuing an Advanced Lean Service program at the University of Wales, Cardiff, solidifying their expertise in lean service methodologies.
