Sophie Milam is an accomplished policy expert with extensive experience in advancing solutions to hunger, poverty, and racial inequity. Currently serving as a Special Policy Advisor at the Greater Chicago Food Depository since April 2019, Sophie leads initiatives that connect individuals to safety net programs through policy, technology, and outreach, while also engaging diverse stakeholders to foster impactful partnerships. Previous roles include Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, Senior Director of Public Policy, and various positions in influential committees and councils. Sophie's background includes significant contributions to organizations such as Feeding America and Bread for the World, focusing on nutrition assistance and comprehensive poverty policies. Sophie holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy Analysis from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago and a BA in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
