Sam Opsahl is an experienced electrical and electronics engineer currently serving as a Substation Engineer I at Great River Energy since July 2024, following a role as a Substation Engineering Intern at the same company from December 2021 to May 2024. Responsibilities include working with relay settings and software to develop protection plans for electrical lines and transformers. Prior to this, Sam gained valuable experience as a Summer Intern at Renew Power Systems, Inc., focusing on research and development, and worked part-time as a Farm Hand and Groundskeeper during earlier years. Sam holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of St. Thomas, earned between 2020 and 2024.
