Simon Huang has worked in the software and technology industry since 2013. Theirfirst job was as a Service Desk Analyst for SNC-Lavalin Operations & Maintenance in 2013. Simon then worked as a Desktop Support for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in the same year. In 2014, they worked as an IST co-op for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. In 2015, they worked as a Test Automation Developer for Seagate Technology, where they were responsible for end-to-end testing and automating any new and existing features in a web based product coded using an Angular.js backend. Simon also developed functional end-to-end tests that aimed to ensure the quality of the product before release. In 2016, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern for AlertDriving and as a Software Engineering in Test for D+H. In 2017, they worked as a Software Developer for Ford Motor Company. From 2018 to 2022, they worked as a Senior Frontend Developer and Frontend Developer for Parity Inc. and Graylog, Inc., respectively.

Simon Huang obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Honours Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2018. Additionally, in April 2020, they were awarded a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from the Scrum Alliance.
