Laina Mitchell has been working in the field of social work for over 10 years. Laina started their career as a Social Worker & Emergency Department PRC Coordinator at Samaritan Hospital in June 2012. In this role, they were responsible for performing psychosocial assessments, providing information and referrals to community resources, and coordinating patient care plans with interdisciplinary teams.
In January 2011, Laina transitioned to the Whitman County Health Department where they took on the role of Dental Tutors Coordinator. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating dental tutoring services for students in the health department’s dental program.
In September 2016, Laina became the Investigations & Response Manager at Grant County Health District where they are responsible for investigating complaints, coordinating response efforts, and overseeing the district’s infection control program.
Laina Mitchell completed their undergraduate degree at the University of Washington, where they studied public health and Scandinavian studies.
