Jack Cohen

Jack is the CEO of Dark Knight Ventures. Dark Knight Ventures focuses on private equity investments where they can provide intellectual and economic capital to help optimize the targets’ growth objectives.

Jack began his career at Cohen Financial in 1981 as a loan originator. He went on to lead the firm as CEO for 25 years, and during his 34 years at the business, spearheaded a highly effective expansion strategy that included recapitalizing the firm six times between 1998 and 2013.

Through the years Jack has been an active member and association President of Chartered Realty Investor and Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (“CREFC”). Sits on the boards of CREFC, Commercial Real Estate Finance/Multifamily Board of Governors (“COMBOG”) and has sat on the big board at Mortgage Bankers Association (“MBA”). He is active in Urban Land Institute and is the past chair of the IOPC Silver Council. Additionally, Jack has been a member of Young Presidents Organization (“YPO”) / World President’s Organization (“WPO”) since 1992 and is a past Chapter YPO Chair (Chicago). Currently, Jack sits on the boards of American Hauler, Academic Approach, Stanford Professionals in Real Estate, and the University of Wisconsin Graaskamp Advisory Board.

Jack holds both a M.S. in Construction Management and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.A. from Claremont Men’s College. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Pitzer College; has taught classes at the Claremont Colleges and Northwestern; and is an active leader and member of several industry trade associations where he is also often a speaker, moderator, trainer, and keynote.
