Serhii Yavnyi is a highly skilled Staff Machine Learning Software Engineer with extensive experience at Grammarly since December 2012, specializing in on-device machine learning, multi-modal large language models, and computer vision. Serhii has taken on leadership roles, such as Tech Lead for the Responsible AI initiative, focusing on building standards and tools for ethical AI practices, as well as improving the technical aspects of various products like the Grammarly extension and desktop applications. Prior to Grammarly, Serhii worked as a Software Engineer at Uniblue Systems Ltd, Strikersoft, and Tactel Ukraine, contributing to performance enhancement suites, iOS apps, and Windows mobile applications. Serhii holds both a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
