Jay Antico has extensive work experience in the field of clinical laboratory management. Jay is currently working as the Senior Director of Clinical Laboratory at GRAIL since March 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Clinical Laboratory at GRAIL from April 2021 to March 2023. Before joining GRAIL, Jay worked at Illumina as the Senior Manager of Clinical Laboratory from June 2018 to April 2021, and as the Manager of CLIA Laboratory from February 2016 to June 2018. Jay also has experience working at Quintiles as the Manager of Medical Laboratory from September 2013 to January 2016, where they managed the day-to-day operations of molecular pathology and microbiology laboratories, coached and mentored staff, and ensured compliance with regulatory requirements. Jay started their career as a Research Technician II at Georgia Institute of Technology from September 2011 to August 2013, where they contributed to the development and optimization of assays, conducted research studies, and organized research projects.
Jay Antico completed a Master of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at The University of Alabama from 2008 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the same university from 2004 to 2008. In addition to their degrees, Jay Antico has also obtained certifications in the field of Molecular Biology. Jay received the Clinical Genetic Molecular Biology Scientist (CGMBS) certification from the California Department of Public Health in March 2016, and the Technologist in Molecular Biology (MB(ASCP)) certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology in January 2014.
