Blaine Higgs is a seasoned politician serving as the Premier of New Brunswick since October 12, 2010, following a tenure as the Minister of Finance and as an elected Member of the Legislative Assembly for Quispamsis. Higgs has held multiple leadership roles within the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick, including as the party leader and a leadership candidate. Prior to entering politics, Higgs had a notable career in the private sector, concluding as the Director of Logistics and Distribution at Irving Oil from 1977 to 2010. Educationally, Higgs has completed programs at Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, Queen's University, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick.
