Advisor at Sesh

Kara is a cognitive scientist and developmental psychologist. Her research focuses on how people learn to represent and reason about themselves, other people, and the world around them. Recent papers have explored how adults and children in different cultures think about minds, bodies, and emotions; and how parents and other caregivers think about infants’ developing mental lives. Kara completed her B.A. in cognitive science at Yale University, her Ph.D. in psychology at Stanford University (under the supervision of Ellen Markman and Carol Dweck), and her postdoctoral training in anthropology and psychology at Stanford University and the University of California, Riverside.
