Trausti Thormundsson is a seasoned hardware engineer and technology leader with extensive experience in the audio and electronics sectors. Currently serving as Director of Hardware Engineering at Google since December 2020, Trausti also co-founded Controlant, where as a board member, Trausti focuses on new product development in cold chain monitoring solutions. Previously, Trausti held the position of Vice President and General Manager of Audio at Synaptics Incorporated, where responsibilities included strategy, marketing, and R&D management. Prior to that, Trausti was Chief Technology Officer at Conexant, overseeing technical due diligence during its acquisition by Synaptics and leading a successful corporate turnaround. Trausti's early career includes various engineering roles at Conexant, where notable achievements encompassed pioneering developments in digital signal processing and embedded audio systems. Additionally, Trausti served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Iceland, teaching engineering courses. Trausti holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a C.Sc in Electronic Engineering from Háskóli Íslands.
