Samuel Karp is a Staff Software Engineer at Google since June 2022 and has served as Chair of the Technical Oversight Board for the Open Container Initiative (OCI) since January 2020, contributing to the establishment of open industry standards for container formats and runtime. Their previous experience includes roles as Senior Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services, where Samuel worked on Amazon Elastic Container Service and related technologies, and as a Software Development Engineer focused on Amazon Local. Samuel also co-organized the Go Northwest community conference in 2018 and began their career with support roles at UCLA Information Technology Services. Samuel holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UCLA, earned in 2012.
