Dean Hildebrand is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in cloud computing and distributed systems. Currently serving as Technical Director at Google since August 2017, Dean focuses on fostering relationships with enterprise leaders to meet strategic technology needs within Google Cloud Platform. Prior to this role, Dean spent a decade at IBM, where positions included Principal Research Staff Member and Research Manager, leading innovative storage projects and contributing to the direction of Spectrum Scale (GPFS). Dean's early career includes significant contributions to distributed file systems during academic research at the University of Michigan and various internships at Sandia National Laboratories. Dean holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia.
