Acacio Cruz is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in engineering and IT management, currently serving as Sr. Engineering Director at Google since July 2007. In this role, Acacio oversees Account & Device Integrity, focusing on combating hijacking, abusive, and fake accounts, as well as driving initiatives for child safety online. Acacio's extensive experience at Google includes various leadership positions in account security, anti-abuse measures, and site reliability engineering across multiple teams. Prior to Google, Acacio held key roles at Merck Serono, Serono, INS, Autodesk, Dynamac, and Oracle, with a focus on IT management, systems architecture, and corporate engineering. Acacio holds a degree from the New University of Lisbon.
