Sarma Tekumalla has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Starting in 2002 with Grange Insurance, they served as the AVP of the Enterprise Project Management Office, overseeing the enterprise PMO and supporting a significant transformational change. From 2011 to 2016, at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, they worked as a Program Manager in the Global Operations ePMO, leading a team in delivering operational and financial plans for global accounts. At Penn National Insurance, starting in 2017, they held the position of Vice President, responsible for managing high-budget projects and driving strategic transformation. Currently, at Strategy Enablers LLC, they work as a Principal Consultant. Overall, Sarma Tekumalla has a wealth of experience in project management, strategic planning, and organizational change.

Sarma Tekumalla holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Production Engineering from BIT Mesra Student-Industry Relations Cell. In addition to their formal education, Sarma Tekumalla has obtained several certifications. Sarma is a Book Contributor accredited by Canvas Credentials (Badgr) since September 2023. Sarma is also a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) from the Project Management Institute, earned in January 2021. Sarma Tekumalla holds two additional certifications from the Project Management Institute: Project Portfolio Management Professional - PfMP obtained in December 2015 and Project Management Professional (PMP) obtained in December 1999.
