Mel R. Valenzuela has extensive experience in the combat sports industry, currently serving as a Matchmaker at A1 Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions, and the Vice President of Fight Operations at BYB EXTREME BAREKNUCKLE BOXING. Valenzuela is the Chief Executive Officer of Íconos Sports Entertainment, Inc., a full-service consulting firm for combat sports. Notably, Valenzuela has matched events including Golden Boy Promotions' MMA cards headlined by Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz III and Oscar De La Hoya's KO Entertainment presents Bally's Fight Night. Previous roles include Fighter Relations Manager and Boxing & MMA Matchmaker at Roy Englebrecht Promotions, and Fight Director for Combate Americas, where Valenzuela was a founding member. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of La Verne, along with studies at Loyola High School of Los Angeles and Universidad Iberoamericana in Ciudad de México.
