Rupa Sarkar is an accomplished academic and editor currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet Digital Health since December 2018 and as Engagement Director for the Inclusion & Diversity Advisory Board at Elsevier since April 2023. Previously, Rupa held significant editorial positions at Nature Research, including Chief Editor of Nature Protocols and Senior Editor at Genome Biology. Rupa's earlier research experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, focusing on developmental disorders, and a Research Fellowship where Rupa investigated microRNAs in stem cell differentiation at Imperial College London. Rupa earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Imperial College London. Rupa's contributions extend to collaborative research at the Natural History Museum, reflecting a strong foundation in both scientific inquiry and editorial leadership.
