PhD, aged 75, has been appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director since 2005. Prof Chan is an honorary chairman of The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association and honorary presidents of the Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology and the Hong Kong Mould and Product Technology Association. In addition, he is the professional advisor and committee member of the Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries. Prof Chan is currently the chairman and senior managing director of Surface Mount Technology Limited.
