Jonathan Truong, MPP has a diverse work experience spanning from 2011 to 2022. Starting in 2011, they worked as a High School Instructor for the TRIO Upward Bound Program, teaching ACT and College Access. In 2012, they became a Consultant for Economic and Community Development at NACDI, where they designed the Anpetu Was'te Cultural Arts Market. Jonathan also worked as a Consultant for Social Enterprise at Cookie Cart, and a Consultant for Education Policy at the African American Leadership Forum Twin Cities. In 2013, they joined Yelp as an Associate Regional Director for United States and Canada, Community and eventually became the Regional Director for West South Central States, Community and Founder & National Co-Lead of Yelp Asian Pacific Islanders. In the same year, they also worked as a Consultant for Workforce and Community Development at CAPI USA - Immigrant Opportunity Center. In 2012, they worked as an Event MC for Red Bull BC One. Finally, from 2022 to present, they have been working as a Head of Community at Codecademy and a Community Operations Fellow and Community Fellow for Gold House.
Jonathan Truong, MPP, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Southeast Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008. Jonathan then went on to earn a Master of Public Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs in 2013, with a focus in Economic and Community Development. In 2019, they received certifications from BetterManager for Conversations That Matter, and from Emtrain for Preventing Workplace Harassment.
