Chibusa Nkhuwa is an experienced mining professional currently serving as Underground Manager at GOLD FIELDS since October 2024. Prior to this role, Chibusa held multiple positions including Underground Manager, Alternate Underground Manager, and Mining Engineer at BHP from September 2011 to October 2024, focusing on mine design, development work plans, underground drill and blast operations, and ventilation oversight. Chibusa also worked as a Production/Planning Engineer at Gold Fields Ltd. from 2007 to 2011, where responsibilities included mine design and scheduling. Chibusa began the career as a Management Trainee at Konkola Copper Mines plc from November 2003 to November 2004, advancing to roles such as Section Boss and Senior Mining Engineer. Chibusa holds a Bachelor of Mining Science degree from the University of Zambia, completed in 2001.
