Jonathan Valdez, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the education field. From 2006 to 2021, they held various roles in different school districts. From 2006 to 2009, they worked as an Elementary School Teacher for Socorro ISD. Jonathan then moved to El Paso Independent School District, where they worked as an Elementary Assistant Principal and District Science Coach from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, they moved to YSLETA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, where they worked as a Middle School Principal until 2016. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as an Elementary Assistant Principal and Elementary School Principal for Leander ISD. In 2021, they began working as a District and School Success for Goalbook. Most recently, they have been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas since 2022.
Jonathan Valdez, Ph.D. completed a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Elementary and Middle School Education from The University of Texas at El Paso between 2001 and 2006. Jonathan then went on to obtain a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at El Paso between 2009 and 2010. In 2016, they attended Harvard Graduate School of Education to study The Art of Leadership. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Administration from New Mexico State University between 2017 and 2021. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging from LinkedIn in April 2021.
