Mathieu Streefland currently serves as VP and Head of Cell Therapy CMC and Strategy at Galapagos, a position held since September 2024. Prior to this role, Mathieu held the position of Vice President Global Process Development at uniQure from September 2021 to September 2024, overseeing various development activities for preclinical to commercial stage projects. During tenure at Kiadis Pharma from January 2018 to September 2021, Mathieu was responsible for global CMC development of cell therapy programs. Previous experience includes positions at uniQure, MSD, and academia, where Mathieu contributed significantly to process development, including a role as Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at Wageningen University. Mathieu earned a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering from Wageningen University & Research and a MSc in Biopharmaceutical Sciences from Leiden University. Additional educational experience includes studies at Nyenrode Business University.
