Senior Manager, Recruiting Operations And Emerging Talent at GlossGenius

Alexis Marek has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Alexis is currently the Manager of Recruiting Programs and Operations at GlossGenius since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Recruiting Programs Lead at Squarespace from April 2021 to February 2022.

Alexis also has a strong background in recruiting operations from their time at Bridgewater Associates, where they held the positions of Team Lead, Recruiting Operations from January 2019 to April 2021 and Recruiting Associate from August 2017 to January 2019. During their tenure, they managed a team of Recruiting Coordinators, developed and led onboarding and training programs, and implemented technologies for recruiting and hiring processes.

Before joining Bridgewater Associates, Alexis worked as an Executive Assistant and Digital Information/Technologies Associate at THE J. M. KAPLAN FUND, INC from May 2015 to August 2017. Their responsibilities included supporting executive staff and managing digital information systems.

Alexis has also gained experience in research and advocacy roles. Alexis worked as a Research Intern at the Division of Correctional Health Services, NYC Health and Hospitals in June-July 2017. Alexis has also interned at the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) in various roles, including Advocacy, Policy and Communications Admin Assistant from March 2014 to May 2015, and Advocacy, Policy and Communications Intern from May 2013 to July 2013.

In addition to their professional experience, Alexis has also contributed to social projects and nonprofits. Alexis completed an internship at The Karuna Center for Peacebuilding from November 2012 to December 2013, where they worked on social media projects, fundraising, and event coordination. Alexis also worked as a Research Assistant for the Transitional Justice Database Project at Mount Holyoke College from January 2013 to May 2013, where they conducted research on political mechanisms of justice in times of transition.

Alexis Marek began their education at East Granby High School from 2006 to 2010. After completing high school, they enrolled at Mount Holyoke College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Politics from 2010 to 2013. Following their undergraduate studies, Alexis attended Bard College's Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program in 2013-2014. Here, they obtained a Certificate of Intensive Study in International Relations and Affairs. Additionally, Alexis obtained a Certificate in Intensive Academic Study of International Relations and Global Affairs from the State of New York. The specific month and year of obtaining this certification are unknown.
