Martand Shardul is an experienced professional in sustainable development and energy policy, currently serving as the Policy Director at the Global Wind Energy Council since March 2021. Previously, Martand held various roles at TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute from March 2012 to February 2021, contributing to projects such as the DFID-TERI Clean Energy Partnership. Achievements include independently advocating for business-plan contests during the 2012 UN's Sustainable Energy for All launch in Asia and addressing energy poverty issues at the Earth Summit, Rio +20. As a co-founder of MaskFund.org, Martand played a key role in addressing air pollution in the National Capital Region. Martand also served as the Network Coordinator for South Asia at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth, leading initiatives to promote sustainable development among youth in the region. Martand's educational background includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Big Data Analytics and a Master of Arts in Sustainable Development Practice, complemented by a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science.
