Sowrya K is an experienced nutrition professional currently serving as Programme Manager for Large Scale Food Fortification and Innovations at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) since October 2022. Prior to this role, Sowrya held various positions at Unilever from March 2012 to February 2023, including Nutrition Lead for Foods Europe, where responsibilities included enhancing the nutritional profile of multiple brands and driving fortification and positive nutrition programs. Sowrya also served as Global Nutrition Assistant Manager for Unilever Food Solutions, contributing to the global nutrition strategy in key regions, and as Country Nutritionist, leading scientific projects and supporting the development of science-based nutritional claims. Earlier positions include Clinical Dietitian at Fortis Hospitals and Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital, focusing on diet management and patient education. Sowrya holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition from Savitribai Phule Pune University and a Diploma in Marketing and PR Communication from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, alongside a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science - Chemistry from Fergusson College.
