Michael Pan has worked in various engineering and customer service roles since 2006. From 2006 to 2011, they were an Intern at the SF Municipal Transportation Agency where they maintained work and medical records of Muni drivers and helped retiring Muni drivers file necessary paperwork and answer questions. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Trade Floor Assistant at the UC Davis Bookstore, responsible for assisting customers in searching for books, suggesting books based on their interests, and contributing to expedite bookstore functionary. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Head Engineer and Mechanical Engineer at Architectural Lighting Works (ALW), overseeing the Engineering Department, working with VP of Product Development, and designing custom linear lighting luminaires. Finally, from 2016 to 2019, they were an Applications Engineer at DiCon Fiberoptics, where they developed and improved manufacturing processes for Solid State (LED) lighting products and worked with the US-based marketing team to understand market requirements and help form new product concepts.
Michael Pan has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, which they obtained between 2008-2013. Michael also attended Phillip and Sala Burton High School. In February 2013, Michael obtained their Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification from the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
