Phillip Deardorff has experience working as an Associate Scientist at Avedro, Inc. since August 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Researcher at The Kaplan Lab, Tufts University from January 2016 to August 2017. During their time at The Kaplan Lab, they collaborated with postdoctoral researchers to develop a three-dimensional bench-top approach to disease modeling in the cornea using a tissue engineered co-culture corneal scaffold. Phillip conducted research on diabetic keratopathy in vitro and evaluated phenotypic traits and key biomarkers of neuropathy using techniques such as immunofluorescence, qRT-PCR, and western blotting.
Phillip Deardorff has a strong educational background in bioengineering and biomedical engineering. Phillip first attended Lehigh University from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in their field of study. Phillip then pursued further education at Tufts University, where they completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from 2015 to 2017.
