John Hope is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in engineering management and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at GitLab since August 2019, John leads a remote team of 30 and has been instrumental in enhancing customer-focused engineering solutions that delivered the largest deal by Total Contract Value (TCV) in the company's history. Prior roles include managing projects at Storyful and co-founding ShiftDock, where John worked on innovating staff scheduling solutions. Additionally, John has a background in game development with Project Zebra and experience in music technology and record label management. John holds a PGDip in New Venture Creation, an MA in Sonic Arts, and a BSc in Music Technology from Queen's University.
