Jo Noble has a diverse work experience in the field of resource management and planning. Jo currently serves as the Chief of Strategy & Science at Gisborne District Council since March 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Director at Noble Planning from December 2019 to March 2022, where they focused on strategic resource management and policy development.

Jo also held various roles at Gisborne District Council, including Strategic Planning Manager from September 2018 to December 2019, and Principal Planner from June 2018 to September 2018. Before that, they worked at Bay of Plenty Regional Council as a Senior Planner from September 2012 to May 2018, and as a Senior Consents Officer from 2008 to September 2012.

Jo'searlier work experience includes being a Senior Resource Advisor at Greater Wellington Regional Council from August 2004 to July 2008, and a Hazardous Substances Advisor at the Environmental Protection Authority NZ from March 2002 to August 2004.

Jo Noble attended King's College London from 1999 to 2000, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Aquatic Resource Management. Prior to that, they attended Durham University from 1996 to 1999, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Zoology/Animal Biology. Before their university studies, Jo Noble attended Willingdon Community School, although the specific dates and degrees earned are not provided.
