Michelle S. is an experienced technology leader with a robust background in engineering and project management across various industries including aerospace, defense, and information technology. Currently serving as the Director of Software Platform Engineering at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., Michelle is responsible for leading technology teams and enhancing operational capabilities. In addition to ongoing work at Ginkgo, Michelle has been an Instructor at the California Institute of Technology since June 2014, focusing on Project Management and Systems Engineering. Previous roles include Director of Information Technology at Zymergen, Sr. Manager of Infrastructure at Marchex, and multiple engineering positions at Northrop Grumman. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Northern Arizona University and a certification in Systems Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
