Javier Alvarez is an experienced professional in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, currently serving as the Manager of Manufacturing at Gilead Sciences since August 2019, following a role as Lead Technician. Prior to Gilead, Javier worked at Grifols from June 2013 to August 2019, where responsibilities included serving as Production Supervisor and Lead Technician for Gamunex®-c, as well as a Research Associate Scientist in Research and Development. Academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from California State University, Los Angeles (2016-2018), a Master of Biotechnology from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona (2012-2014), and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz (2006-2010). Additionally, Javier gained teaching experience as a Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant at Cal Poly Pomona and held roles as Orientation Staff and Undergraduate Research Associate at UC Santa Cruz.
