Opher Doron is a Strategic Advisor at GigCapital. Opher has over 20 years of experience in management and marketing, with a focus on the aerospace and defense industries.

Opher began their career in 1979 as a Rear Admiral in the Israeli Navy. Opher served for over 20 years, during which time they gained experience in leadership, management, and marketing. In 2003, they left the Navy to become the Director of Marketing for IAI \ MBT Missiles. Opher held this position for five years before moving to TSG IT Advanced Systems Ltd. as the Tactical Systems Division Manager in 2008.

At TSG, Opher led software teams in developing and delivering tactical command and control systems. Opher stayed with the company for three years before moving to IAI - Israel Aerospace Industries in 2011. At IAI, Opher served as the VP, General Manager Space Division. In this role, they led the development, construction, launch, and operation of observation and communication satellites for Israeli and foreign users. Opher also led IAI’s team in the design and build of SpaceIl’s Beresheet lunar lander, and during Israel’s breakthrough mission to the moon. During their eight years at IAI, Opher revamped the satellite lineup to include a variety of small and sophisticated satellites, upgraded operating and QA processes, and widened the customer base.

In 2019, Opher left IAI to join GigCapital as a Strategic Advisor. In this role, they provide advice and guidance on strategic initiatives and investments.

Opher Doron has an MBA from the University of Haifa and a Ba in Economics from the University of Haifa. Opher also has a degree from the Israeli Naval Academy and has completed the NESS Global Leadership Program at INSEAD.
