Director at Gibbs Smith

Jeff Thorpe has worked in various roles in the finance and insurance industries since 1985. Jeff began their career at Reliance Insurance as an Auditor, where they audited small, medium and large sized companies for insurance purposes. In 1991, they moved to USF&G Insurance as a Senior Auditor, providing training and research support in insurance and premium auditing to underwriting staff, agents, and policyholders. In 1992, they became the Controller at QualiSoft, Inc., performing or supervising all daily accounting functions including payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial statements. Jeff also managed all strategic planning and financial planning for the company. In 1995, they moved to Franklin Capital Corporation as Manager, managing three departments including insurance, customer service and operations for a $250 million auto finance company, with responsibility for 22 employees. In 2014, they joined the Board of Directors of Cirris Systems Corp and Kostopulos Dream Foundation. In 2017, they were invited to join the Advisory Panel of Bunnell Inc. In 2022, they joined the Board of Directors of Bountiful Museum and Learning Center and was appointed Director at Gibbs Smith. Jeff also retired as CFO, Sr. Principal, and Treasurer at Architectural Nexus, where they managed all financial operations including financial statements, General Ledger, capital budgeting and annual CPA review process and corporate tax returns and K-1s of a $20 million architectural firm with three offices.

Jeff Thorpe attended Brigham Young University from 1979 to 1985, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management/Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management-Finance. In November 2014, they obtained a Certified Design Accountant certification from the Certified Design Accountants Association.
