Shin Murakami, PhD, FGSA, is an accomplished academic and leader in the field of gerontology and medical education. As the Founder and Director of the Biotech Academy Internship Program, Shin provides free summer courses to alleviate the financial burden of educational fees in Vallejo. In the role of National Faculty at the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Shin develops medical board exams in Biochemistry and Genetics. Shin has served on the National Scientific Advisory Council of the American Federation for Aging Research since 2000 and holds a Fellowship with the Gerontological Society of America, recognizing significant contributions to the field. As an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Journals, Shin contributes to high-impact publications on Genetics of Aging and Aging Neuroscience. Additionally, Shin is involved in local high school advisory boards, promotes diversity and inclusion at Touro University California, and advocates for faculty affairs within the Faculty Senate Executive Committee, all while maintaining a robust academic career as a Full Professor and researcher focused on life-extending interventions and dementia.
