Catherine Flower has a diverse work experience in various roles related to geospatial analysis and cartography. Catherine started their career as a GIS Officer at EPA - Victoria in 1999 before moving on to work as a GIS/Cartography consultant at the Victorian Department of Primary Industries from 2001 to 2005. Catherine then joined the City of Melbourne as a GIS/Cartographic Officer in 2006, where they provided spatial analysis and developed standard symbology and cartographic templates. Catherine also conducted desktop GIS training for various departments within the organization. In 2018, Catherine transitioned to become a Business Owner/Nutritionist at FeastBox Pty Ltd, where they successfully launched and managed a healthy lunchbox delivery service. Catherine'sresponsibilities included financial reporting, business planning, product development, and relationship management. Catherine then worked as a Geospatial Analyst at the Victorian Electoral Commission from 2020 to 2021, where they produced detailed maps for electoral boundaries and conducted spatial analysis. Currently, they are working as a Geospatial Analyst at Geoscience Australia, where they curate and manages data, performs spatial analysis, and develops online presentation tools using ArcGIS Online. Catherine's notable achievements in this role include delivering maps and web apps to support decision-making for a National Radioactive Waste Facility.
Catherine Flower completed their Bachelor of Geomatics/Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatics from the University of Melbourne from 1994 to 1998. In 2014, they obtained a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE upgrade) from Swinburne University of Technology. In 2009, they also earned a Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAA) from RMIT University. Additionally, Catherine pursued a Graduate Certificate in Human Nutrition from Deakin University, which they completed from 2015 to 2016.
