Lucy M. De La Cruz, MD, currently serves as the Chief of Breast Surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where responsibilities include directing the Breast Surgery Program, the Ourisman Breast Center, and the MedStar Breast Health Program, along with holding the position of Associate Professor of Surgery and Program Director of the breast surgery fellowship program. Previous roles include Surgical Oncologist with a breast focus at Inova Health System, Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, and Breast Surgeon at Jupiter Medical Center. Dr. De La Cruz began their medical career at the University of Miami, where significant leadership roles were undertaken during residency, including Chief Administrative Resident and membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Early research experience includes a fellowship at George Washington University focusing on critical care and pulmonary medicine.
