Ian Grant is a highly experienced Platform Engineer specializing in HPC and cloud infrastructure, currently contributing to Genomics England since September 2022. As part of the Cancer 2.0/Long Reads programme, Ian works within a dual-teamed role, enhancing capabilities in high-performance computing. Concurrently, Ian has been leading the Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps initiatives at Medindex Ltd since January 2022, focusing on cloud-native architecture for digital clinical communication platforms. With a strong background in research and scientific computing, Ian's previous roles include Research Platform Engineer and Clinical Informatics Compute Support & Systems Engineer at King’s College London and the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre. Ian's academic credentials include a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry and extensive postdoctoral research experience at prestigious institutions, alongside foundational roles in web development and IT administration during earlier studies.
