Rafael Fernandez has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Rafael began their career as an Industrial Engineering Intern at Kool Rite Limited in 2018. Shortly after, they joined Venture for Canada as an Atlantic Intern. In the same year, Rafael also worked as a Continuous Improvement Consultant at PAL Aerospace.
In 2019, Rafael joined TechnipFMC as a Junior Designer in the Subsea - Engineering Services department. Rafael then transitioned to Genoa Design International Ltd. in 2020, where they held three different positions. These include Production Designer - Designer I, Production Designer - Designer II, and their current role as Lead CAD Administrator.
In 2017, Rafael worked as a Mechanical Designer at Paradigm Hyperloop, gaining experience in the field. Their most recent position was as a Detail Designer at Seaspan ULC in 2022.

Rafael Fernandez completed their Bachelor of Technology in Applied Science and Engineering Technology at Memorial University of Newfoundland from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in Engineering Technology (Co-op) from College of the North Atlantic from 2016 to 2019. Rafael also obtained their High School Diploma from Gonzaga High School from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including P.Tech from the Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists of Newfoundland and Labrador, Admin Document Production Training, Admin IT & COS Server Training, Admin Parts & Specs Training, and Basic User Training in Outfitting Modelling from CADMATIC. Rafael also completed Aerospace HSE Training, Human Factors Training, and PAL Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Training from PAL Aerospace.
