Head Of Registration Applications at General Medical Council

Richard Amison has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Richard began their career at npower where they worked as a Records Team Manager from October 1997 to February 2001. Following this, they joined The Bradford Group/Collectibles Today as a Customer Service Manager, overseeing all customer services in the UK and leading a project to relocate the department. Richard worked in this role from February 2001 to March 2005.

In 2005, Richard joined Stoke-on-Trent City Council as a Contact Centre Operations Manager, responsible for managing the contact centre operations until April 2008. Richard then moved to the General Medical Council where they held two roles. Firstly, as the Contact Centre Manager from April 2008 to May 2012, they led a 40-seat contact centre and reception service that was recognized for exceptional customer service. Later, they became the Head of Registration Applications, overseeing the registration process for UK and international doctors joining the UK medical register and ensuring compliance with legislation to protect public health and safety.
