Head Of Policy And Planning, Fitness To Practise at General Medical Council

Joanna Shaw has a diverse work experience in the legal profession. Joanna started their career as a Trainee Solicitor at the Law Societies' Brussels Office in 2007 and then moved on to Berrymans Lace Mawer as a Trainee Solicitor from 2006 to 2008. After that, they joined Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP as an Associate from 2008 to 2013. At General Medical Council, they held multiple roles, starting as a Policy Solicitor in 2013 and then progressing to Senior Policy Lawyer. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Policy and Planning, Fitness to Practise at General Medical Council.

Joanna Shaw completed their education at three different institutions. Joanna attended William Hulme's Grammar School from 1991 to 1999. Joanna then pursued a degree in Modern Languages at Durham University from 1999 to 2003, specializing in Spanish and Italian. Afterward, they enrolled at the College of Law in York from 2003 to 2005, completing a GDL and LPC in the field of Law.
