Jonathan Brake serves as the Environmental Sustainability Program Manager at the General Board of Global Ministries since September 2022 and has extensive experience as clergy within the Western North Carolina Conference UMC since July 2000. Previously, Jonathan held the position of Pastor at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church from July 2021 to September 2022, where Jonathan focused on community engagement amid significant regional growth. Prior to that, Jonathan was the Lead Pastor at Woodmont United Methodist Church from July 2018 to June 2021, overseeing a church merger and community mission development. Additionally, Jonathan served as the Associate Minister for Adult Spiritual Formation and Education at Centenary United Methodist Church from March 2011 to June 2018, utilizing leadership and teaching skills in various community programs. Jonathan's educational journey includes a Doctor of Ministry in Ecology & Justice Ministry at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio (2020-present), a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary (1996-2003), and a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education & Religion from Pfeiffer University (1993-1996).
