Tomaž Žagar is an accomplished professional in the field of nuclear energy and safety, currently serving as the Head of Analysis for Nuclear New Build at GEN energija, d.o.o. since June 2017. With extensive experience as an Advisory Council Member for the Slovenian Nuclear Safety Authority and an Assistant Professor at the University of Maribor, Tomaž has made significant contributions to nuclear safety and education. Tomaž has participated in multiple international missions with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and has held leadership roles, including Co-Chair of the Reliable Nuclear Fuel Services Working Group within the International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC). Tomaž's background includes a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and a strong commitment to advancing nuclear safety, demonstrated through former positions such as Chief Executive Officer of ARAO and Head of the Nuclear Safety & Licensing Department at GEN energija.
