Marie Saenen currently serves as the Coördinator aanmeldbeleid basisscholen at Gemeente Utrecht since November 2024. Prior to this role, Marie held the position of Directeur ODBS Pieterskerkhof at SPO Utrecht from February 2022 to November 2024 and worked as a teacher at KSU Utrecht from 2008 to January 2022. Additionally, Marie briefly served as the schoolleider i.o. at KBS De Jazzsingel from August 2019 to November 2020 and as a teacher at getrudisschool from September 2014 to August 2019. Earlier experience includes the role of Centrum Manager for the education centre Playing for Success at FC Utrecht from September 2010 to September 2013. Marie's educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (2004-2008) and studies in Event Management at Linnartz Nijmegen (2010-2012), along with various certifications from Penta Nova and Hogeschool Utrecht between 2015 and 2020.
