Malcolm Durling has a diverse work experience in various software engineering roles. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Software Developer at End 2 End Limited, where they built a water metering system and a CRM system for an ISP. Malcolm then joined Serato INC LP in 2013 as a Software Developer, where they worked on Serato DJ and later moved to the developer experience team. In 2015, Malcolm became a Tech Lead at Paloma, where they built mobile apps and online store directories. Malcolm then moved to Narrative in 2019, initially as a Lead Engineer and later as the Head of Engineering, managing a team of 12 engineers. In 2022, they joined Chestnut as a Senior Software Engineer, working on frontend technologies. Currently, Malcolm is a Staff Software Engineer at Gather.

Malcolm Durling obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Otago. Malcolm attended the university from 2009 to 2011.
