Sydney Barnason

Director Of Outreach And Specialty Programs at Gateway Region YMCA

Sydney Barnason has a diverse work experience in various organizations. In 2011, they started as a Zoo ALIVE Teen Volunteer at the Saint Louis Zoo until 2014. From 2015 to 2019, they worked as an Educator at the same zoo, where they were involved in educating the public on conservation through various activities. In 2019, they took on the role of a Camp Counselor at Camp Augusta until 2020. They then became an Outreach Education Coordinator at the Endangered Wolf Center from 2020 to 2021. In 2021, they worked as a Village Leader at Camp Augusta until early 2023. Currently, Sydney Barnason is working as the Director of Outreach and Specialty Programs at the Gateway Region YMCA since February 2023. They also have experience as a Lead Educator at the Saint Louis Zoo since January 2023.

Sydney Barnason completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2014 to 2018. They later pursued a Master of Science degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources from the same university from 2018 to 2020.
