Marika Straftis is an experienced professional in the travel and hospitality industry, currently serving as Contracts Manager - Product Development at Gate 1 Travel since June 2014. Straftis has a proven track record in enhancing net profitability through effective negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors while fostering long-term relationships with hotel properties. Previously, Straftis worked at American Express Travel and Lifestyle Services as a Platinum & Centurion representative, focusing on customer satisfaction and quality improvement. Additional roles include Director of Operations at Prestige Travel & Cruises, where Straftis successfully led functional areas to achieve financial objectives, and a lengthy tenure at IsramWorld in various leadership positions, including Vice President of Operations and Reservations and Vice President of Internal Systems, achieving significant improvements in customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Straftis holds degrees from the University of London and IST – International School of Tourism Management in Lausanne.
