Chief Medical Officer at GATC Health

Robert Sorrentino began their career in 1995 as a National Healthcare Management Consultant at Mercer Human Resource Consulting. In 2002, they joined CareMore as the Chief Medical Information Officer and Lead Medical Director. From 2007 to 2010, they served as the Chief Medical Officer at ARTA Health Network. In 2010, they moved to IBM - TJ Watson Research Center as the Global Chief Medical Scientist for Accountable Care Systems. From 2014 to 2016, they were the Chief Medical Officer at Providence St. Joseph Health, Southern California Operations. During this time, they also worked as an Expert Consultant on Health Systems Modeling & Applied Artificial Intelligence at Prealize Health from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, they became the Chief Medical Officer and Interim Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation. In 2020, they resumed independent advisory activities as the Chief Executive Officer of Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare Consulting. Finally, in 2022, they joined GATC Health as their Chief Medical Officer.

Robert Sorrentino began their education in 1968 when they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Science (SB) in Physics (Biophysics). Robert also took a course in Biophysics titled "Functional Anatomy of Man" (HST.010) from 1971 to 1972. During the same period, they were also part of an inter-university project funded by DARPA to advance the state of the art in computer applications. In 1973, they took graduate courses in Computer Science at Harvard University. Robert then proceeded to Stony Brook University and obtained their Doctor of Medicine from the Renaissance School of Medicine in 1974. From 1978 to 1979, they completed a rotating internship in Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Obstetrics & Pediatrics at UCLA Hospital & Clinics. Robert then completed a residency program in Family Medicine at UCLA/Antelope Valley Medical Center from 1979 to 1981. In 1981, they obtained a Physician and Surgeon (MD) certification from the Arizona Medical Board and in 1979, they obtained a similar certification from the Medical Board of California.
