Kathleen Teixeira began their work experience as a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1989, where they provided policy advice and worked on various healthcare, labor, Social Security, and transportation issues. In 2001, they joined the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) as the Senior Director of Government Affairs, where they collaborated with the Vice President of Public Policy and other stakeholders to develop and implement public policy initiatives. Kathleen also served as the Vice President of Public Policy and Advocacy at AGA starting in July 2019, responsible for legislative, regulatory, and political activities, as well as educating members of Congress and advocating for AGA's positions. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated leadership in public policy initiatives and successfully advocated for policy changes.
Kathleen Teixeira attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1985 to 1989, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Political Science and Government.
